CLIENT

ACTIVITY

Learning Event

This was an evening of debate and discussion held at Darlington Hall in Devon. We had two provocateurs on the platform; Jo Berry, whose father had been killed during the Brighton Bombing in October 1985, and Patrick Magee, the man who had planted the device and was previously a senior member of the Irish Republican Arm.

THE OUTCOME:

Together, along with me as Chairman and 150 members of the audience, we challenged ourselves to reflect on who is a terrorist and who is a victim? We discussed the value of dialogue as a way forward for communities facing conflict arising from power imbalances, so prevalent in the world then and now.
