What I do
Executive Coaching often requires challenging existing paradigms to move towards a new vision. It is supporting very senior executives to envisage and move forwards towards new ways of working. Coaching often takes place over an extended period in support of the executive's progression.
Leadership development is working with management to locate their leadership style based on the core qualities they already possess. Leadership is the art of moving yourself and your team towards a commonly agreed, shared goal. Leadership coaching is about honing your skills and behaviours to achieve those goals.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens could change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has". (Attributed to Margaret Mead)
Leadership Team Coaching is working with a group to agree on mutually acceptable goals and work collectively to achieve more extraordinary performance than an individual alone ever could. The coach works with the team to combine their diverse talents into a high performing collective.
Management consultancy is a collaborative process that improves business strategy, organisational performance, and operational effectiveness by implementing suitable systems, procedures, behaviours, and skills.
This approach to consulting uses analytical tools to shed light on weak areas of the organisation so that solutions can be developed and implemented.

What makes a great executive coach?
Over the years, I’ve become interested in that one question that vexes executive coaches and potential clients alike. “What makes a genuinely great executive coach”? As a practitioner myself, I’m always working on my skills, developing my approach, and learning new ways of bringing clarity to a situation. I’m constantly fascinated by how to get…
The Big Ten Questions to ask When Looking For a Coach
You might find this a bit of a surprise, but over the last 25 years in the coaching and consulting sector, how rarely I get asked for any of the Ten Big things, you should think about before selecting an executive coach. Now, that is not to say there are not valid reasons behind this.…
"I recently enjoyed a two hour coaching meeting with Andrew. This was the first time that I had engaged with a coach and I was not frankly entirely sure what to expect. I found Andrew to be warm, engaging, knowledgeable and helpful. He had clearly taken time to understand my situation prior to our meeting and was able to help me think more clearly about my plans for the coming year. I would not hesitate to recommend a meeting with Andrew for those looking for a coach who falls at the supportive end of the spectrum. I imagine that I will check back in with Andrew later in the year.”
Managing Director and Non-Executive Director
"Andrew is a very competent coach and mentor. I learnt a great deal from him during our session. It takes the skill to listen and then ask questions. My session with Andrew was very informative, relaxed and enjoyable. Learnt a lot about myself through his professional approach.
I highly recommend and will use his services again.”

“I have recently been the lucky recipient of some executive coaching from Andrew. I cannot emphasise enough how valuable this session was to me. Andrew has a wonderful style, a great listener who prompts and probes when needed throughout the session to give you a clarity of thought that I never believed was possible! He enabled me to think outside of my usual box and gave me belief in my own abilities by pointing out my strengths and highlighting areas for personal growth. This all underpinned by practical and tactical advice and a plan of improvement for the near future.
I would definitely recommend Andrew to coach your executive team.”

“I recently started working with Andrew as my coach. Andrew is thoughtful, challenging and I particularly valued the questions he asked that helped me to see for myself that I needed to look at a certain situation from a different perspective ... letting me work out the solution for myself rather than telling me what he thinks I should do. I always look forward to our sessions together and have seen a change in my confidence, vision and energy over the time we have been working together.”

“I’ve just had the pleasure of coaching sessions with Andrew through my PEL course and have to say it has been an amazing journey. Working with Andrew has helped me re-evaluate and remap my personal journey, something I certainly would have struggled on without Andrews thought-provoking sessions. I would highly recommend Andrew for any emerging leader looking for inspiration on their journey.”

“Working with Andrew gave me the time and space to focus on making decisions about what I actually wanted and what steps I needed to take to get where I wanted to go. His gentle focussed questions made me step back and think differently and as a result, I am looking at a new future. It's also interesting working with a coach who has a different background. I enjoyed that aspect very much, so don't narrow your options to your own sector!”
